You Chose the Bag. We’ve Thought Through the Care.

Archive Essentials Luxury Restore & Replenish Kit with cleaner, conditioner, protector, two application cloths and presentation tube.

You spent time choosing your handbag. The leather, the craftsmanship, the design and the way it feels when you carry it.

Looking after it should not mean starting another research project.

Archive Essentials brings together purposeful products, complementary kits and clear material guidance to make luxury handbag care straightforward at home. Cleansing, nourishment, protection, lining care and shape support: each has a job in looking after the whole bag.

We’ve done the work of bringing the care together. You choose the routine for your handbag’s material and needs.

Enjoy your handbag today. Protect its future.

Why wait for wear to become the reason to care?

When a handbag still looks beautiful, care is easy to put off.

Yet handles collect oils, surface dirt builds up and linings gather debris. Leather can become dry, while storage without appropriate support can leave a bag resting awkwardly between outings.

Starting from the first carry makes care part of ownership, rather than something to work out once a problem appears. If your bag is vintage or pre-loved, start with its condition today.

Waiting until deterioration is established can be a costly mistake. Routine care helps maintain suitable materials before neglect creates concerns that may need professional attention.

The purpose is straightforward: preserve the condition you want to keep, rather than wait for avoidable deterioration to need addressing.

Care chosen for treasured handbags. Tested on my own.

I care for a personal archive of more than 100 luxury handbags and personally hand-test every care product I stock on selected hides.

That experience shapes Archive Essentials: the products I select, the combinations in our kits and the practical guidance that helps you choose.

These are products I use on pieces I treasure. In the Archive Gallery, you can see the bags, the routines and the results, with additional treatments identified where they accompany a kit.

My own Acqua Bayswater is one example. I used the Luxury Restore & Replenish Kit for cleansing, conditioning and protection, with photographs documenting the complete routine.

Find your material. Find your care.

You do not need to become a handbag-care expert to get started. We’ve brought the material guidance and product choices together for you.

Our Leather Guide: Care by Material covers the main material types, explains their care needs and links to relevant Archive Essentials products and kits.

From smooth and grained leather to suede, nubuck and canvas, it helps you narrow down the appropriate routine. It also distinguishes the body material from contrasting trims and linings, because one handbag can need more than one approach.

Find your material, understand what it needs and follow the relevant product links. That is what we mean by “we’ve thought through the care”.

Still unsure? Honest, free advice is part of the support.

Tell us about your handbag, its material and the care concern you want to address. We’ll help you choose an appropriate routine. If it needs specialist attention rather than one of our products, we’ll tell you.

Choose the routine for the job

You do not need every product. Start with what your handbag needs now.

For dry, dull leather: Luxury Restore & Replenish

Bring back softness. Reveal the Archive Glow.

The Luxury Restore & Replenish Kit brings cleansing, nourishment and protection together for compatible leather.

Luxury Foaming Cleaner lifts accumulated dirt without stripping the leather’s natural oils. Luxury Scented Creamy Conditioner restores softness and suppleness. Leather, Canvas & Fabric Protector adds a breathable protective barrier against moisture, oils and everyday exposure.

Two application cloths complete the routine, making the steps straightforward to carry out at home.

Choose it when compatible leather needs cleaning and nourishment, followed by protection. Its Foaming Cleaner and leather conditioner are not for suede, nubuck, canvas or fabric.

For everyday grime and interior freshening: Deep Cleanse and Protect

A fresher bag, inside and out.

The Deep Cleanse and Protect Kit combines exterior cleaning, interior freshening and protection, with a microfibre cloth included.

Gentle Leather Cleaner lifts dirt and oils from compatible leather, suede, canvas, fabric and nubuck. Odour Re-Fresh neutralises unwanted smells in suitable linings rather than simply masking them. Leather, Canvas & Fabric Protector helps guard compatible surfaces against water and spills.

Choose it when grime and freshness are the priority. The kit does not include a separate conditioner, and each formula has its own material guidance.

For proactive maintenance: The Preventive Protocol

Protect the finish you fell in love with.

The Preventive Protocol Kit brings three distinct care jobs together.

Hygiene Plus Handbag Sanitising Mist provides surface-hygiene care. Colour Protect Treatment conditions compatible leather and helps protect against light-related fading. Anti-Pollution Protector helps repel water, oils and atmospheric pollutants.

Choose it for ongoing preventive care on compatible materials and finishes. Colour Protect is conditioning colour care, not a recolouring treatment.

For cleansing alongside preventive care: The Complete Atelier Care Set

The Complete Atelier Care Set combines The Preventive Protocol Kit with Archive Dual-Action Purifier, which lifts everyday dirt and oils while conditioning compatible leather.

It brings cleansing and conditioning alongside surface-hygiene care, conditioning colour care and protection. Choose it when those are the jobs your bag needs, using each formula according to its instructions.

Already have part of your routine?

Choose an individual product to fill the gap rather than buying overlapping kits.

Our Leather Guide links material needs to relevant products, whether you need cleaning, compatible leather nourishment or another targeted care step.

For cleaning across several material types, Gentle Leather Cleaner is suitable for suede, canvas, fabric and nubuck as well as compatible leather. Other formulas have different roles and exclusions, so choose according to the job and the surface.

The aim is useful care, not an overflowing cupboard.

We’ve thought about the lining and shape, too

The condition you want to preserve includes the inside of your handbag and the way it rests between outings.

Our suedette organisers keep essentials together while adding a removable layer between everyday contents and the lining. Soft, flexible and low-bulk, they provide organisation without an unnecessarily thick or rigid insert.

When your bag rests, an appropriately sized satin pillow provides gentle shape support without repeatedly packing and unpacking loose stuffing.

Choose the correct model and dimensions. The organiser should fit comfortably, and the pillow should support without stretching or overfilling.

Organisation while you carry it. Thoughtful support while it rests.

Why ongoing care is worth the investment

Handbag care is not simply about how a bag looks after its next clean.

It is about continuing to enjoy something you chose carefully. Maintaining its usability and character. Helping avoid preventable deterioration and the potentially costly restorative work it can lead to.

If you eventually sell, the condition you have preserved is one of the things a future buyer will assess.

No routine can prevent every repair or guarantee a resale price. But appropriate maintenance gives you a practical way to look after the condition of your handbag and maximise its resale potential.

Care for it while you enjoy it, not only when you are ready to pass it on.

Straightforward care starts with the right choice

Use the Leather Guide to identify your starting point, then follow your bag maker’s material-specific advice and each product’s full instructions.

Patch-test suitable formulas on a hidden area, allow them to dry fully and check for unwanted changes before wider use. Treat contrasting materials separately and follow application, ventilation, handling and storage precautions.

For fragile materials, unstable colour, peeling finishes or structural damage, ask for advice before treatment. Maintenance and specialist repair serve different purposes.

Clear guidance and honest support are part of the Archive Essentials approach. You should not have to work everything out alone.

You chose the bag. We’ve thought through the care.

Start with your handbag’s material. Choose the routine for its needs. Make care part of enjoying it, from the first carry onwards.
