Do you need a kit or just a cleaner?
If your bag only needs a targeted clean, you do not automatically need a complete kit. Our cleaner-choice guide compares the individual formulas so you can buy for the job in front of you.
Likewise, a bag that is already clean and supple does not need repeated cleansing and conditioning just because products are available. Assess its condition and choose the steps it needs.
Before you begin
Follow the bag maker’s guidance and every product’s label. Patch-test each formula in a discreet area and let it dry fully before assessing colour, texture and finish. Keep products away from hardware, lining, trim and decoration unless confirmed suitable for those areas.
Cleaning and conditioning cannot replace worn-away leather, mend stitching, recolour faded panels or reverse every stain. Cracking, peeling, structural damage and uncertain specialist finishes need assessment rather than repeated applications.
